BASEQ Annual Birthday Festival

The BASEQ Annual Birthday Festival promises to be a big one this year. This is a very important event for us as an association because this is where we raise the funds to send our Blues Performer of the Year winners to The 2009 Australian Blues Music Festival in Goulburn. This years winners as you may already know are the fantastic Blind Lemon who put on a blistering performance in the final of the competition. To assist us in raising funds at this event we have a fantastic line up of performers:-
The brilliant Mick Hadley and the Atomic Boogie Band who never fails to put on a stellar performance guaranteed to leave everyone breathless on the dance floor!
The amazing Angela Fabian Band – Angela simply blew everyone away at this year’s Women in Blues event and seeing her perform should be a must for everyone! Angela will be joined on stage by the equally talented singer and sax player Kath Williams from the Sunshine Coast.
Competition finalists Martini 66 will be delivering their own unique and entertaining style of blues, getting everyone in the mood with lots of audience participation!
Ugly Graham and the Zephyr Project, who we also saw in the finals of the competition, will also be there with their own brand of toe tapping and thoroughly enjoyable blues.

And if that wasn’t enough to get you interested – we also have No Problem on the bill to kick off the show. These youngsters from the Sunshine Coast are certainly going to be a force to be reckoned with down the track and I’m really looking forward to seeing and hearing them play again.
So please, set Saturday night the 11th October aside in your calendar – bring along a few friends – enjoy the fantastic entertainment and at the same time support the association and this years winner.

The Jubilee Hotel is the venue – and you can get a great meal there up until 9pm. Show starts at 8pm with tickets available at the door $20 BASEQ Members (don’t forget to bring your membership card!), $25 non members. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Cheers
